This structured, 6-month volunteer position is designed to give you real-world experience in office administration and human services. We provide training, ongoing mentorship, and a formal reference letter upon successful completion
What You Will Do

Front Desk Administration: Greet families, answer phone inquiries, manage appointment schedules, and assist with digital data entry.

Family Group Support: Help set up weekly family sessions, welcome participants, and assist coordinators with group activities.
Skills You Will Develop

Professional Communications: Mastering phone etiquette, client triage, and customer service.

Administrative Tools: Practical experience with scheduling software and database management.

Leadership & Facilitation: Building confidence in public speaking, active listening, and group dynamics.
What We Are Looking For

A reliable commitment of 4–6 hours per week for 6 months.

A friendly, empathetic attitude and a willingness to learn.

Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector background check (costs covered by us).

As a member, you will:

Meet 3 times a year for 1.5 hours (children are welcome)

Provide feedback on NVNS programs and services

Advise on emergent needs and gaps in support and resources for families and youth

The Board of Directors is a volunteer group from various backgrounds and experiences. Members share a passion for the impact of the organization and are ambassadors of NVNS.
Board members participate in 8 meetings a year, support fundraising, engage in events and other committee work as needed.
