  • Experiencing isolation, mood changes, anxiety, depression, grief or stress during the perinatal period, or supporting someone who is?

  • Interested in a mental health assessment?

We offer free counselling sessions to parents, couples and families who are experiencing barriers accessing private counselling.

  • Individual therapy that is personalized using therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), mindfulness-based techniques and trauma-informed counselling.

  • Couples therapy to help you and your partner navigate relationship changes and learn to resolve conflict in an effective, respectful way while identifying shared parenting goals.

  • Family therapy that supports the development of healthier relationships and communication between parents, children/youth and extended family members.

  • Mental health assessments to help identify symptoms of mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, with referrals to a family doctor for diagnosis if needed.

We offer:

  • Counselling can be offered in English, Hindi and Urdu. Interpreters available for other languages upon request

  • Assistance with transportation and childcare

  • Culturally sensitive and trauma-informed care: The therapist is equipped to provide supportive care that respects your values, culture, and unique experiences.

  • Daytime and evening availability: Mondays 10 am to 2 pm and Wednesdays 3 to 7 pm.

  • Appointments in person at Nova Village or via telehealth (phone or video call).

Booking an appointment is easy – just click the button below! If you do not see a time available, please email jirvine@novavillagens.com  to be added to our waitlist.

A note on language: We recognize the diversity of gender identities and expressions. The language in the perinatal mental health world typically reflects cis-heteronormativity and this needs to change. We support gender self-determination. We refer to mothers, fathers, parents, and birthing people in an effort to represent and include everyone in our diverse community.
