Fairview Resource Centre celebrating 40 years

 with a brand new look 

 

As you may have seen on our socials we have exciting news to share. Starting today the Fairview Resource Centre (FRC) has a new look and name, Nova Village NS. While still proudly located in the same Fairview neighborhood, the new name Nova Village reflects the growth of the organization and expansion of programs beyond Fairview.

 

For almost 40 years the organization has supported the health and wellbeing of families, children and youth by providing low-barrier, family-centred programs and will continue to do so. With feedback from the community and our new strategic plan, we are paving the way for the future.

The mission remains the same: To provide programs and support that enrich lives and foster wellbeing. 

 

Nova Village recently launched three new programs covering Halifax central and one provincial program in response to community needs. These new initiatives are the Halifax Maternal Wellness Program, Thriving Families NS (parent education program) and a family counselling program.

 

Why this name - "Village" ties us back to our roots on Dutch Village Road, ‘Nova’ means bright star and Nova in Nova Scotia.
