Our Family Playgroup Drop-In offers a welcoming and fun environment for parents and caregivers with children up to 5 years. This is a drop in program with free play, activities and social connections.

Muin Paul is from Eskasoni First Nation, Cape Breton, and is a Cultural Facilitator at the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre. He is also a drummer with the group East Boys and a competitive grass dancer.
September 28
10:00 AM – Prayer & Honour Song
We will begin with a prayer and Honour Song, followed by a brief talk about Indigenous history.
10:30 AM – Drumming & Singing
Experience the power of drumming and singing together.
Everyone in the group is welcome to participate if they wish.
11:00 AM – Closing
We will close our gathering with a thank you and a song.

New Parent Drop-in Group
Fridays @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Join other new parents and children under 18 months on-site for a drop-in peer and social group. The Public Health Nurse is onsite the first and third Friday of the month.
The public health nurse can provide additional support with:
- weighing your baby
- breast / chest feeding and nutrition support
- general health and infant development questions
- perinatal mental health and wellness

Infant Massage Program
5 Sessions , Every Thursday in October @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
A 5-session program led by a certified infant massage instructor, designed to help parents learn soothing massage techniques while strengthening attachment and bonding through nurturing touch during their baby’s first year.

Maternal Wellness Program

Are you pregnant or a new mom looking for connection and support?
Our Maternal Wellness Group is a 6-week program for expectant moms and moms with babies under 18 months to learn about:

Mom to Mom Peer Support Circle
2nd Tuesday of each month @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Our Mom-to-Mom Support Circle is a closed, 6-month support group that offers a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space for mothers and birthing people navigating the emotional ups and downs of pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood.
By meeting with the same group once a month for six months, participants have the opportunity to build deep connections, develop trust, and grow alongside others who truly understand. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, looking for support, or hoping to connect with other moms who get it, the Circle is a place to share openly, learn practical coping strategies, or simply listen and know you aren’t alone.
Led by a trained peer facilitator with lived experience, the Circle encourages honest conversation, meaningful connection, and mutual support throughout the six-month journey.
